Doesnt reveal anything you havent discovered in your save. Only shows places and routes that you have taken before. Pure rogue like (I wouldn't even call it a metroidvania since there isn't much exploration and you'll be done with all the runes unlocking new routes very early). It also sounded like the previous paths were not remembered after the patch/adding that feature. This and any other drops, including those from lore rooms, will always be infected with Malaise on 5 BSC. Dead cells is very hard and fun, but really isn't anything like dark souls. Another guaranteed piece of food will be found in a wall rune. There will always be 1 clean piece of food in any one biome, dropping from an enemy. Its a common mistake for newbies, but pick a colour and ALWAYS pick that colour when its an option (pick the highest hp boost when its not an option.) Each scroll gives you 15 dmg boost for that colour, if youre splitting them across all colours then youll have garbage dps. Minor food gives 50 points (1 bar) and major food gives 150 points (3 bars) of malaise. I hit 3BC in less than 20 runs, can't beat 4BC and quit for months each time. There's stuff on Ramparts that I don't understand which is biome 2, lol. The amount of malaise given depends on if the food is major or minor. One of the primary meta-mechanics of a roguelike (since it has permadeath) is enabling your runs to be more convenient.
